Will I ever finish a poem?
Island on my horizon,
My land across the sea,
The clouds surround you,
And your face is hidden from me.
So many times in my life,
I’ve tried to lift the veil.
Each time I end up
Shipwrecked before I sail.
Island on my horizon,
Why plot another course?
What if I provoke
Reality’s divorce?
Dreams on my horizon,
Echoes of love in my mind,
Why run fast after them
And leave the truth behind?
How can I know I love you,
If my love’s a camouflage.
Another word for lust,
It chases a mirage.
